Brian Cox - Health and Science (8th grade)
Mr. Cox graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1999 with his Bachelors of Science in Community Health. While living in Farmington, Brian worked as a Personal Trainer at the UMF Health and Fitness Center where he also taught a Strength and Conditioning class. In 2001, Brian joined the Oxford Hills School District as an ed tech and later taught Health and Biology at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. In 2003 he joined the OHMS staff as a Health teacher. In the Spring of 2011 Brian completed his Masters degree from Walden University in Science Education. He currently coaches Freshman Basketball at OHCHS and Baseball here at OHMS. Brian enjoys his summers by playing Baseball and spending time with his wife and two children.
Darren Wallach - Language Arts and Social Studies (8th grade)
Darren Wallach grew up in South Portland and Biddeford and graduated from George Washington University with a B.A. in History. He earned a M.A. in American Studies from the University of Southern Maine. He served as a Youth Educator in Americorps in Washington State after College and taught Environmental Education in Forest and Mountain settings for two years. In 2004, he joined Jesuit Volunteer Corps and taught English in a Himalayan village in Nepal. Upon returning to the U.S. he taught Social Studies and character Education in urban Boston schools and then in Biddeford, Maine.
In 2010 Mr. Wallach was selected for the Rotary International Peace Fellowship and completed an intensive study in Peace and Conflict Resolution in Bangkok, Thailand with professionals from 15 countries worldwide.
He is very pleased to be teaching in an experiential- based education program and to be living close to nature here in Oxford Hills

Meredith Wheeler - Science (7th grade)
Ms. Wheeler has lived in Maine all her life. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2011. Directly after graduation she worked as a behavioral health professional. In the summers she works as a whitewater rafting guide in The Forks, Maine. She has taught 7th & 8th grade science at OHMS. She currently teaches Science, Exploring Nature and Media/ Web Design.

Laurie Rodrigue - Language Arts and Social Studies (7th grade)
Ms. Rodrigue graduated from Saint Joseph's College of Maine in 2007 with a degree in Elementary Education. Since then she has taught fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. Most recently she has taught seventh and eighth grade Language Arts at OHMS. She is considered Highly Qualified to teach in a self contained classroom, middle school Math, English Language Arts and Social Studies. Since joining the staff at OHMS she started an Outing Club, directed the spring musical, and coached the Alpine Ski Team. Because of her passion and dedication to education and children, she spends her summers teaching Hunter Safety, Boater Safety and other programs that are offered at the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center.
Kyle Morey - Mathematics (7th & 8th grade)
Mr. Morey graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business/Economics. In 1996, Kyle joined S.A.D. 17 as an ed tech, and coached soccer, basketball, and track & field at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. In 1998 he accepted a Computer Applications teaching position at OHMS. Through taking additional graduate level courses Kyle became Highly Qualified to teach Math and for the past four years, has served as the school's Math interventionist. In the winter of 2011, Kyle completed his Master of Science degree in Education from the University of New England, with a concentration in Educational Leadership. Kyle enjoys fishing, golfing, competitive athletics, and spending time with his wife Carmen and his son Luke.

John Rothrock - SpEd Case Manager/Robotics Instructor
The 2012/2013 marks Mr. Rothrock's fourth year at Oxford Hills Middle School and his 16th year overall in the educational field. Prior to his arrival on campus Mr. Rothrock spent ten years at Sweetser, in Saco, working with behavioral needs students and 2 years with the Windham School Department in a newly organized day treatment program - Sebago Educational Alliance (S.E.A.) His own educational background has it's roots here in the Oxford Hills area as he attended Waterford Elementary, OHMS and OHHS before his family moved to Portland and graduating from Cheverus in 1989. Now back in the area, Mr. Rothrock has been active with the OHMS track team, starting as a volunteer prior to becoming the head coach of the OHMS Track & Field Team. As a Lego Robotics teacher, Mr. Rothrock has grown the program from an after school program of a handful of students to incorporating it within the curriculum and providing this technology to over 50 students. The next step is to get students to compete in the First Lego League against other schools in Maine.
